We are a husband and wife in our 50s who purchased a Neal Communities home in good faith, believing we were investing in quality, integrity, and a safe place to live. Like any responsible homebuyers, we trusted that Neal Communities was a competent, professional builder with leadership that stood behind their homes.

We couldn’t have been more wrong.

From the moment we uncovered serious construction defects, we approached Neal Communities with respect, patience, and a willingness to work toward a solution. We followed the process. We gave them every opportunity to make things right.

Instead, what we’ve experienced since September does not align with what we would expect from a reputable homebuilder. In our opinion, the repeated delays, lack of transparency, lack of action, and failure to address serious concerns suggest a company more focused on protecting its bottom line than prioritizing homeowners’ health, well-being, and safety.

We put our life savings into this house, believing we were purchasing a well-built, high-quality home. Instead, we were left with:

• Mold in and behind our kitchen exhaust, we can’t cook on our stovetop for six months.
• Mold inside our HVAC ducts
• Mold growing on the exterior of our HVAC ducts in the attic
• Airborne and widespread mold exposure – currently dormant but certain to return as humidity levels rise, threatening our health. It’s the same type of mold that is growing on the HVAC ducts.
• A structurally deficient roof
• Two roof leaks
• Plumbing issues, Electrical Issues, Draining, and Grading Issues.
• A vast amount of workmanship deficiencies – affecting nearly every aspect of our home
• Over 60 Florida Building Code violations – clear evidence of poor construction practices.
• A staggering 122-page inspection report – documenting approx. 200 defects in a brand-new home.

For six months, we have pleaded, begged, pushed, and fought to have these serious issues repaired—yet not a single defect has been fixed. Instead, we have faced constant delays, misleading assurances, and empty promises, as Neal Communities continues to stall rather than take responsibility.

This isn’t just incompetence—in our opinion, it’s a calculated strategy to delay, deflect, and exhaust homeowners into giving up.

Why We Started This Blog

We created Neal Communities Exposed to document every single defect, every step of our battle, and every bad-faith tactic this builder has used against us. But this is bigger than just our story—we know we are not alone. Many of our neighbors are facing similar problems, and countless other homeowners have been mistreated by Neal Communities.

This blog is an educational resource and a platform for homeowners to become informed, empowered, and proactive. We refuse to be silent about the challenges we are facing—it’s time to stand up, demand accountability, and advocate for the quality and safety every homeowner deserves.
